Why WalkEaze?
Kir is my black Labrador, she will be two in July 09. When Kir was a puppy, I was in a very fortunate position in which I could take Kir to work with me. Leaving a dog at home alone for long periods of time is neither fair nor acceptable, even more so for puppies, thus often leading to unhappy dogs with frustrating behavioral problems which are tough for both dog and owner. One of my aims is to support those who can be good dog/pet owners but due to other commitments, require a reliable source to aid with the responsibility of caring for your pet. I decided with much consideration to create WalkEaze, it was time for a change of career. With a passion for the countryside, experience with many animals and skills I gained from working 14 years in logistic management, WalkEaze was born.
Starting my own business was a daunting yet exciting thought and spent many hours mulling it over and researching. By no means do I consider myself a dog/animal expert, what I do have is a life time experience with dogs. Not to mention, Horses, cat’s ducks & chickens, I have a real passion for them all. Growing up, as far back as I can remember my father kept Labradors and trained them as working retrievers. I remember always getting involved with the dogs. And when they weren’t out training or working, they were our pets and my pals. I have wonderful childhood memories of those dogs, the training sessions, watching them working, hours of walking and playing with them. I recall building jumps in the garden from whatever I could find and teaching them to jump! I realise now as that I was as in awe of them, impressed by their capabilities and intelligence, they loved it and so did I.
Age 11, I kept and cared for a pony belonging to a Riding for the Disabled, Pepi. During his later years, I took on an ex-race horse, Lizzie. My interest in horses is purely for the love of them, I have never competed, I just enjoy being around them and hacking out in the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside when time allows. To date I own an Arab cross called Mani… he’s a real adorable character. During my late teens, regularly I would stay at neighbor’s houses/farms to look after their pets whilst they went away on holiday. This would involve dogs of all breeds, shapes and sizes, Cats, Chickens, Geese, ponies, reptiles, sheep, pigs and cattle just to name a few!
Currently I keep, one pony, a cat called Sandie, two hens and a cockerel, and my darling Labrador Kir. Among our family and friends there is a mixture dogs, all of whom come to stay with us at holiday times.
So with that little insight, you will now realise, having cared for many numerous animals and having owned to date three horses, a number of family dogs, my own dog, two cats, a gaggle of ducks and numerous chickens, I am destined to work with animals!
I hope I can be of assistance to you and your pet’s requirements.
